3 - 25 - 21 Hazy day, mild day on Fifth Avenue in front of the NYLibrary, where I snapped pix of Jan/Non-Binary, uses pronous She.

3 - 15 - 21 Met Mae yesterday in Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ and snapped a few pixs, very quickly. Later in the day, I sent a message to her on IG, asking if she would be interested in me doing a photo shoot. Her reply was "yes" and did the shoot this afternoon. It was chilly, sunny and windy, but Mae never complained and allowed me to do all the photos that I had in mind. She was lovely to photograph, with her hair blowing in the wind, as she stood on the jetty and did some photos laying on the sand, after I put down a matt, as shadows fell on her body. She's 25 years of age, transgender, lives on the Jersey Shore and will be starting a new job tomorrow, but first has to do some training for it. I hope to see her again and to do more photos. A delightful afternoon!

3 - 1 - 21 Mild day in midtown where I photographed Claire who lives in Brooklyn and identifies as non-binary or agender. She says, " I don't have a label for my gender identity and not seeking one. To me, non-binary means rejecting the idea of gender as it exists on a single axis spectrum. Non-binary can be very feminine or masculine or somewhere in between it is a rejetion of gender, not a third gender. I just never felt right being called a woman but have never felt there is something else that "I am" or want to be called, so I am non-binary or agender. I am comfotable with all pronouns, but "they/them" is my favorite because it imples purality, mystery and isn't associated with gender.

1 - 18 - 21 Photographed the amazing Mx. Cleopatra Mizrahi in Central Park, NYC on MLK Day. It was a beautiful, not too cold, sunny day. Did a variety of photographs in b/w and color around the lake, near the rocks and into the tall grass. She identifies as She/They and says "non-binary, its not just a gender term to distinguish those who don't identify as a binary, but an embracive lable for humans who are overwhelmed and harmed by constrictive notions on gender roles to be a feminine woman or masculine male are the only indicators of normalcy. For those who are brave to defy societal expectations assigned prior to our births to live in our bodies with an expression of liberation, pride, authenticity and not your tight empty boxes. Gender is hot, gender is playful, gender is evolutionary, gender is beautiful, only if our environments allow us to be free!

12 - 22 - 20 Another cold day, some sun, some clouds on Fifth Avenue today, where I snapped pix of Ray, outside the Urban Outfitters store. Wearing a rinestone face mask and stylish clothing, mentioned to me, is non-binary.
